Regency Fashion Plates
Although fashion historians rely on original, unaltered plates for research, it’s interesting to see how plates may have looked when they were first published two hundred years ago. I’m restoring over eighty discolored and damaged Regency fashion plates to “nearly new” appearance as part of a project on Regency colors and textiles.
How to download a full size version: Click the thumbnail to see a large size image. Right click and open image in a new tab, then ‘save as’. My restored plates are copyright, but all non-commercial use is permitted, including research and online posting, provided you link and attribute. If you would like an archive quality copy of any plate (600 dpi 4000-5000 pixels high – suitable for PowerPoint projection), reach out to me at info@beatriceknight.com!
